As time passed by, Mother Nature kept on nudging Michigan toward becoming a meteorologist. In 2011, a big nor’easter tracked up the East Coast, unloading over two feet of snow in his hometown. In October of the following year, his passion for the weather grew even stronger when Superstorm Sandy devastated the Jersey Shore. As a result, he evacuated his home during the climax of the storm. Witnessing the raw power of Mother Nature inspired him to learn more about these ruinous storms.
After graduating from college, Michigan secured his first broadcast meteorology job in Savannah, Georgia. While in the Southeast U.S., he gained experience in forecasting severe weather and tropical systems. Some of the storms he broadcast there include Tropical Storm Debby and Hurricane Helene in September 2024.
