Months before graduating from college, Hernandez was hired by KWKT- FOX 44 News in Waco, Texas as a news reporter. She also worked as the exclusive Military reporter for FOX 44 NEWS. In this role, she concentrated on Fort Hood, the Military’s largest Army installation in the country.
The White House hand selected Hernandez to travel with Former President Donald J. Trump during his two trips to the border. She has received three Emmy nominations and earned a Texas Associated Press award for her work on the border.
When she is not in the newsroom, Hernandez concentrates on community service and giving back to the region that helped raise her. In this capacity, she is involved with volunteer work at Food Bank of the RGV, Edinburg Crime Stoppers, and the Special Olympics of South Texas.
Hernandez serves as the founder of Sydney’s Soldiers, a non-profit organization that provides care packages to U.S. Service members cpuntrywide and internationally to raise morale and decrease suicide rates among the military.
