Atchison has spent most of his over 2-decade journalism career covering local news, including the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires in 2012 and 2013. He was the lead reporter on the ground when the flames first broke out and spent numerous hours at the desk to provide important information on the destruction of hundreds of homes both years.
