Further, he produced for WMBD’s podcast and covered science and human-interest stories around that corner of the state. Surprisingly, he wasn’t always fond of the weather.
For instance, while in middle school, he was terrified of storms. Adam eventually began reading about storms and how they formed. What started as a fearful learning experience developed into a fascination. Mother Nature’s might continues to astonish him. Adam was highly involved with the university’s television station VUTV while at Valparaiso.
He became the Weather Director for the school’s radio station during his senior year. He’s also been on ESPN3 and TNT during Valpo basketball games as the school’s mascot, rather than as a player! Adam enjoyed chasing storms with the school’s storm-chasing team and doing improv comedy when he wasn’t busy with TV or being a mascot.
He also worked as an intern for WGN’s Weather Team in Chicago and WCIA 3 in Champaign, Illinois. Adam joined our sister station KODE 12 in Joplin, Missouri, in the summer of 2017. Adam was the Weekend Meteorologist as well as a reporter during the week. Adam has covered tornadoes, ice storms, and scorching heat while in the Show-Me State.
When he’s not at the station, he’s a big video gamer and even a little bit of an outdoorsman. He enjoys visiting the state and county parks in the area. He hikes most of the time, but he never forgets his fishing rod and reel!
