Maragos began as a general assignment reporter at the station.

He has had a diverse career in journalism, starting as a Production Intern at ESPN Radio WMVP-AM 1000 in Chicago (June 2011 – September 2011). He later expanded his experience with internships at NBC Sports Chicago (June 2012 – August 2012) and 890 WLS-AM (June 2012 – August 2012). Transitioning to full-time roles, he served as the Morning & Midday Anchor/Reporter at WLFI-TV 18 in West Lafayette, Indiana, from September 2013 to July 2015. Following that, he joined NBC Chicago.
