Smith continues her work as a storyteller by amplifying the voices of people in metro Detroit about everything, including scams, consumer issues, and personal stories of courage and inspiration.
Smith has had anchoring and reporting stints at WWMT in Kalamazoo, WTVM in Columbus, and WBSG in Brunswick. She also interned at CNN in Washington, WTOC in Savannah, and WBSG in Brunswick.

Smith, a big animal lover, has hosted the yearly Michigan Humane Day of Giving Telethon on Channel 7 for more than 10 years. Also, she created and spearheaded the BuildUp for five years. BuildUp is a partnership with Habitat for Humanity Detroit and WXYZ’s Detroit 2020 team to help with the construction and block recovery efforts in Detroit neighborhoods.
