When Katrina hit his hometown in Long Beach, Mississippi in 2005, that was when she gained interest in meteorology. Furthermore, in 2005, she graduated from Mississippi State where she earned her professional, broadcast meteorology degree.
Furthermore, for a period of two and a half years, she served as a meteorologist and reported for the CBS affiliate, WYMT. While she resided in Kentucky, she visited Cincinnati and quickly fell in love with the city.
