Abbott joined Pacific Lutheran University in 2011 when she finished her high school education. In 2015, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor Of Music degree in Vocal Performance.

Before that, she served the station as the chief weather forecaster from her promotion in January 2023 till May 2024. Upon joining the station in 2020, she first worked as a reporter before she was promoted to morning news weather anchor in October of that year.
Abbott was in the opera profession before she started her broadcasting career. She has performed in multiple musical theatres such as Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Kate in Kiss Me, Kate, Cinderella in Into The Woods, and, Sandy in Grease. She starred as Jane Fairfax in Emma. Her memorable experience while in theatre was singing the Norwegian national anthem for King Harald V of Norway.
Abbott has locally performed with the Prime Time Band of Santa Barbara, the SBCC Theatre Group, and the Condor Express music cruises among others. She was crowned Miss Pierce County in 2015 and Miss West Sound in 2017 in the Miss America Organization.
In July 2015, Abbott was the first runner-up to Miss Washington. She represented Washington State at the National Sweetheart Pageant in Illinois in August of that same year. She enjoys public speaking and volunteers to speak or sing at community occasions.
