But for Proctor, her broadcasting career began on a program called “The Lawmakers” on Georgia Public Television. Prior to working in front of the camera, she worked behind the mic at numerous radio stations in Cincinnati and served as News Director at WCIN.
Proctor is an award-winning reporter who has followed the big story around the world. She has reported stories from the touching stories of Hurricane Katrina survivors to the Million Man March to the devastating earthquakes outside Istanbul, Turkey. She has won several awards including three Emmys, a National Association of Black Journalists award, and the Associated Press Best Newscast for her report “The Rosewood Massacre.”
During her free time, she loves to volunteer with The Children’s Restoration Network and the Sadie G. Mays Nursing Home. She’s as well a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church. She enjoys traveling and speaking to children at schools throughout the community.
