Brenton Thwaites is an Australian actor who has had big roles in the films Blue Lagoon: The Awakening in 2012, Oculus in 2013, The Giver in 2014, Gods of Egypt in 2016, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in 2017.

Thwaites played the role of Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing in Titans from 2018 to 2023. He started his career in his home country in 2011, with roles in Slide and on the soap opera, Home and Away

As a youth, Thwaites was pulled to the idea of being a firefighter or policeman since he was fascinated with films involving firefighters. This interest turned to filmmaking and highlighting his personality through playing many characters. When he was 16, he had his first performance in front of a live audience in Romeo and Juliet.

Before graduating college, Thwaites debuted in the film, Charge Over You. Following his graduation, he made an appearance in an episode of Sea Patrol and the film, Headsmen.

In November 2010, Thwaites secured the role of Luke Gallagher in FOX8’s Slide. Briefly after, he went to Sydney in April 2011 where he played the recurring role of Stu Henderson in SN 24 of Home and Away for 5 months. Thwaites portrayed the male lead, Nic Eastman, in The Signal. The film was released seven months after it was filmed on location in the desert of New Mexico. He later played the lead role of Jonas in The Giver. His performance in the film won him the Australians in Film Breakthrough Award. He starred as the human thief, Bek, in Gods of Egypt.

Thwaites appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which was released on 26 May 2017. In the film, he portrayed Henry Turner, the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann and the grandson of Weatherby Swann and Bootstrap Bill Turner.
