Prior to going to central Indiana, he was living in Michigan his whole life. Kast then spent two years reporting for the NBC affiliate in Traverse City, MI prior to heading south to the Circle City.
He has a passion for broadcast news and loves to tell heartwarming stories that make an impression on the lives of others. Kast was first experienced with local news in 2005 when a Detroit station ran a story on his younger sister battling brain cancer. He had started a bracelet fundraiser in her honor.
Soon after the story was broadcast, orders for the bracelets came pouring in. Because of that narration, the Jenna Kast Believe in Miracles Foundation was born. The foundation has grown tremendously in the past 10 years, granting wishes to Michigan children facing life-threatening illnesses. This experience encouraged him to achieve broadcast news.
When he is not working, he is a devoted sports fan. Kast is a fan of all Detroit teams, however, nothing tops his determination for Michigan State athletics. currently living in Indianapolis, he’s looking forward to seeing his Spartans make a return trip to Lucas Oil Stadium for the Big Ten Championship.
