Within a few weeks, her tumor nearly doubled in size. Faced with this situation, she had a choice: to stay silent about her journey or to share it with others.
Sapida felt a calling to use her platform to raise awareness and make a difference. So, on June 30, 2021, she shared the news of her breast cancer diagnosis. The response was overwhelming, with thousands of people offering prayers and sharing their own experiences of taking action by scheduling mammograms and contacting their doctors.
Realizing the impact she could have on other women going through a similar journey, Sapida made a commitment to keep sharing her story. Each week, she would reveal different aspects of her experience, from her bald head to the story of how she coped.
With remarkable strength, Sapida completed her last chemotherapy session in December 2021 and underwent a double mastectomy in January 2022.
