Cecilia Gutierrez Education
Gutierrez joined the University of the Incarnate Word in 2012 after completing her education at McAllen High School. In 2017, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology.
During her time in college, Gutierrez served as an active member of the marching band. In this capacity, she was the school’s first female drum major for three years. Also, she spent two years as the principal oboe player in the university’s wind ensemble. There, she received multiple awards for leadership and musicianship.
She enjoys giving back to the community, crediting a huge part of her volunteer work in college to her sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha. Through the sorority, she was Vice President of alumnae and heritage and the Vice President of the University’s Panhellenic council.
