The Eugene native launched his career in his hometown after college. There, he served KVAL for almost two years, where he broadcast Oregon and Oregon State athletics, as well as prep sports. His most unforgettable memory there is traveling with the Beaver football team for two seasons to multiple stadiums on the West Coast, broadcasting games on Saturdays.
Following his stint at KVAL, Loper relocated to Los Angeles, where he turned his passion for health into a career. In this capacity, he worked as a personal trainer and health coach. However, his first love called out to him, and in September 2016, he moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
While in Louisiana, Loper served WAFB for over 4 years, broadcasting LSU, Southern University, prep sports, and the New Orleans Saints. His favorite assignments there include going to Omaha for 13 days to cover the Tigers’ run to the College World Series final. He worked in Oregon for 12 days for the NCAA Baseball Corvallis Regional and the final NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field.
