Prior to that, he served at WRCB-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee as a news anchor/reporter for 3 years (May 2013 – June 2016). Kennedy has also worked for KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri as a news anchor and reporter for a year, and for KBIA Public Radio in Columbia, Missouri as a news reporter for 5 months. Additionally, Kennedy has worked for Baylor Broadcasting Network in Chattanooga, Tennessee as a Play-by-Play Announcer and Color Commentator for 3 years.
Over the years of his career, he has reported on many significant stories such as the Codi Bigsby and Noah Tomlin searches, tornadoes, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach mass shootings, and hurricanes. In response to increasing teen violence, Kennedy played a key role in creating an important news special called “Gun Violence in the 757.” In this special program, he brought together all 7 local police chiefs for their 1st-ever televised and joint discussion.
