Dave Eid Biography
Dave Eid is an American journalist who serves WGME as the Sports Director. He joined the station in January 1996 and has served the station for more than 2 and a half decades. Previously, he served WVII-TV in Bangor and Fox 51 in Portland.
Further, he has been working in Maine for the past twenty years. He grew up nearby in Auburn, Massachusetts. From the moment Eid could walk he was either swinging a baseball bat or hockey stick! Eid went to Fenway Park for the first time when he was three years old with his late father!
Even after being in the business for over 20 years and having covered many games at Fenway, Eid still gets goosebumps when he sees that big green monster out in the left field. His two favorite professional moments were covering the Red Sox World Series-clinching win at St. Louis and the Patriots Super Bowl victory over Philadelphia. When he is not working, he enjoys working out and taking care of his lawn! He also enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Eid attended Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications before going on to earn his Master’s degree in Broadcast Communications from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Eid is married to Lisa and the couple is blessed with two children Drew and Danielle. The family resides in Gorham. In 2014, his wife was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. A local oncologist determined cancer had spread quickly from her lung to her liver and lymph nodes. She is undergoing treatment and still fighting.
Four years after being diagnosed with non smokers Stage 4 Lung Cancer my wife Lisa is still here and still fighting! We are incredibly grateful for her amazing oncologist Geoff Oxnard and the wonderful team.
Dave Eid Children / Son
Eid’s son Drew plays travel hockey for the Seacoast Spartans ’99 AAA Elite team. His favorite NHL player is Ryan Kesler of the Vancouver Canucks, however, his favorite team is the Boston Bruins! His daughter has been busy learning how to skate and play softball & basketball. Danielle, whose nickname is “Breezy” is also a fantastic artist and an avid dancer.
