Griek’s broadcasting career began when he worked for the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, widely known as the “Double-A” of the NHL. There, he was an in-game host and statistician for two dominant regular seasons.
Griek was later promoted to help KTNV Action News’ sports unit. During his time there, he found an interest in local sports anchoring and reporting. Next, he became a main sports anchor at KTWO in Casper, Wyoming. Ever since moving to the region in 2009, this has marked the longest time has lived in than any other city.
Griek assisted in creating a non-profit organization known as the Central Nebraska LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) team in the Kearney region. Since its debut in 2014, the firm has hosted a volleyball LOSS Scramble in August annually. He is proud of his work in stimulating the development and sustainability of a group of volunteers who assist those affected when they lose a loved one to suicide.
