Additionally, they made the first time in the 73-year history of the Awards that the top honor for Foreign Reporting went to a television report.

In 2021 Culver and his team traveled to Xinjiang to investigate the separation of children from their families and also reported on China’s alleged human rights abuses. Culver’s work in China also includes coverage of the NBA controversy and the U.S-China trade war. Moreover, the other coverage is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the chronicling of the military, the economic superpower’s rapid rise, and the People’s Republic of China.

Previously, he was working for NBC Washington,  serving as an anchor and reporter. He covered news on politics, education, and crime. David also reported on many national breaking news events, covering various hurricanes that ravaged parts of the US, and the Parkland Florida school shooting.
