He grew up in Michigan, but for his last job, he left the cold and went south to KRIS 6 News in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he served as a multimedia journalist. That is actually where he started his career in journalism.

Taylor says that he enjoys covering stories about real individuals with real-life experiences. He also says that he wants to bring attention to issues that concern the Omaha, NE community and highlight individuals who bring a positive impact in the community. Also, Taylor says that he believes that powerful storytelling can foster compassion, unity, and positive change.

Before Taylor started his career as a news reporter, he had an internship in several newsrooms like Spectrum News 1 in Louisville, Kentucky, WAFF in Huntsville, AL, and ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir. While at Spectrum News 1, he reported on multiple stories like Breonna Taylor’s death (killed in March 2020 by Louisville Metro Police officers).

While Taylor was in Corpus Christi, Texas, he created a short series called “The Untold Story.” This series concentrated on stories that others in the community might have missed. One of these stories was about a homeless camp under a bridge where over 40 homeless individuals lived in the Beeville community.

Throughout his journalism career, he has won a number of honors from the Kentucky Broadcasting Association. These awards were for his excellent dedication to reporting and anchoring news. The Ohio Valley chapter of the NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) has also honored Taylor with an award for “Best News Report” (this is actually his favorite award so far!).
