Gallagher works for CNN, where she serves as a  National Correspondent based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is reporting on vulnerabilities in elections systems across the country, Paying attention to integrity and election security leading up to the 2020 presidential race in November.

Dianne spent much of 2019 covering the off-year elections in states across the US. She has mostly reported on the election fraud which led to a hearing that overturned the results and a tight re-do election that was a political priority for both parties for months in North Carolina’s Ninth Congressional District. Moreover, Gallagher spent time reporting the devastating aftermath of the deadly Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.

Furthermore, she lived in Florida for a month,  embedding with the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fl. While in Florida, she was reporting live from a bus as they caravanned from Parkland to the state capital for the “March for our Lives” demonstration. Gallagher sometimes reports on the battle over gun legislation, both at the federal level and at the state.

In 2018, Gallagher was one of the few reporters to have an access to government detention facilities where families were held after being separated at the U.S.-Mexico border. Dianne spent weeks helping families track down their loved ones after being apprehended in the summer of 2019 during historic ICE raids of chicken processing plants in Mississippi. Additionally, she has reported on multiple national disasters, including CNN’s Emmy-nominated hurricane coverage in 2017 and Hurricanes Florence and Michael in 2018.
