Prior to joining FBN, MacDonald worked at Forbes Magazine as a senior editor, where she covered the IRS, corporate accounting scandals, Washington, D.C., and the yearly list “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.”

Before joining Forbes, MacDonald worked for The Wall Street Journal, where he wrote front-page stories, Heard on the Street columns, and editorials about corporate accounting problems, the IRS, taxes, and Washington, D.C. In the mid-nineties, MacDonald was one of the first journalists in the country to raise the alarm about the impending wave of accounting scandals.

MacDonald also revealed the Church of Scientology’s secret settlement with the IRS, as well as the Kennedys’ use of the IRS to target and audit political opponents and thousands of groups and individuals, including Fair Play for Cuba, which was linked to assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, and allegations of political audits during the Clinton administration.

Prior to that, MacDonald worked as a financial editor for Worth magazine and for Money Magazine, where he covered the IRS and taxes. MacDonald produced an award-winning investigation on IRS practices, which resulted in increased taxpayer rights and IRS reforms. MacDonald was summoned in twice to testify before Congress regarding IRS improvements and taxpayer rights as a result of her IRS reporting.

MacDonald has won 14 awards, including the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business Journalism (for which he also received a nomination the following year), the Society of Professional Journalists Award for Outstanding Public Service Reporting, and the Newswomen’s Club of New York Front Page Award for Excellence in Investigative Journalism.
