Her journey in pageantry began in July 2008 when she won the Miss Lake Festival title. She then competed in the 2009 Miss Ohio pageant, finishing as the fourth runner-up to the winner, Erica Gelhaus. The following year, she earned the title of Miss Miami Valley and participated in the 2010 Miss Ohio pageant, where she placed as the third runner-up to winner Becky Minger.

In October 2010, she was crowned Miss Clayland 2011, and in June 2011, she competed as one of 26 finalists in the state pageant, ultimately winning the competition on June 18, 2011. Throughout her pageant career, she received over $25,000 in scholarship money, with over $10,000 awarded from the state pageant alone.

As Miss Ohio, she made numerous public appearances across the state and was honored by the 129th Ohio General Assembly with Senate Resolution 106 in June 2011. She represented Ohio at the Miss America 2012 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada, in January 2012, where she was named a Quality of Life Award Finalist. However, she did not advance to the top 15 semi-finalists for the national title. Her tenure as Miss Ohio concluded on June 23, 2012, when she passed on her title to Elissa McCracken.
