In the capacity of director of weather content, he uses his computer expertise to facilitate the upkeeping and designing of all the tech in the storm-chasing vehicle and the WVEC Weather Center.

Over the years with 13News – WVEC, he has reported on many weather events such as nor’easters, hurricanes, blizzards, and tornadoes. His love for weather began as he was growing up when he witnessed Hurricane Gloria and the “Circus Blizzard of 1980”.

Besides working on TV, he is also responsible for providing local elementary schools with weather presentations. Also, he serves as a volunteer at Chesapeake 4-H Clubs. Stewart is actively involved in the NWA (the National Weather Association) and the AMS (the American Meteorological Society). He proudly holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the AMS, which he received for good quality weather broadcasts.

When it comes to his education, Stewart is a proud alumnus of North Carolina State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and a minor in Communication. He is also an alumnus of Chesapeake’s Deep Creek High School. While in high school, he worked as an intern with Dr. Duane Harding, one of the Hampton Roads weather’s deans.
