He began as a morning news anchor at the station and held that role until January 7, 2023, when he moved to the evening newscasts. Cassimy began his journalism journey as an intern at WMAQ. During this time, he received guidance from WMAQ alumni Art Anna Davlantes and Norman, who served as his mentors.
Before joining WMAQ, Cassimy was a TV News Anchor at WDIV Local 4 News/ClickOnDetroit from August 2013 to November 2022, accumulating 9 years and 4 months of experience. Before that, he served as the Weekend Morning Anchor and Weekday Reporter at KCNC | CBS Denver in Denver, Colorado, for 2 years and 1 month (from August 2011 to August 2013).
