He previously worked as a Sports Anchor at WLNE-TV in Providence, Rhode Island, and WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, Florida. Additionally, he served as the host of WSBK-TV’s Boston Bruins telecasts.
Outside of his broadcasting career, Lavanchy is deeply involved in his community of Walpole. He serves as a board member of the Friends of Walpole Community Athletic Complex, supporting efforts to raise funds and build new fields at Walpole High School and improve recreational sports fields throughout the city. He has also served as a spokesperson for various organizations, including The Independence 5k Walk and Run and the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress.
In recognition of his community work, Lavanchy was named “Person of the Year” by the Friends of St. Patrick organization in 2012. Lavanchy pursued his education at Emerson College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and Broadcast Journalism between 1982 and 1986.
