What’s even crazier is that she did it all while walking her dog in freezing weather during her time off. The fire started in a building near her own (late at night), and since she was the closest reporter, she didn’t hesitate to jump in. She basically reported live from the scene for hours as the story unfolded. Her and her team’s reporting on that event earned them two Emmy Awards nominations. In Miami, she regularly covered some of the nation’s biggest stories and was nominated for an Emmy Award for her reporting on the Plantation building explosion.
