Coy has won regional AP and SPJ awards for his reporting work at WFSB in Hartford. While working at CN8 News in Philadelphia, he covered the 9-11 terror assaults, the 2003 disputed Philadelphia Mayoral election, and the Capitol Hill shooting. He has been a long-term member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
