Herrera serves KMTR as a sports anchor and reporter. He joined the KMTR team in September 2015. Springdale, Arkansas is her native home. At the age of seventeen, he secured her first job at the NBC affiliate in Fayetteville, Arkansas where he served as a production assistant. Furthermore, while he was in Fayetteville, he got a number of chances to shadow reporters, including; a trip to Kansas City, Missouri, where he helped shoot a feature story on MLB All-Star Torii Hunter.
While he attended the University of Arkansas he learned to edit news stories, shoot, and shoot. Furthermore, he also served as a news anchor at UATV which is the campus news station. In addition, he was able to secure his first job at the NBC affiliate KSNF in Joplin, Missouri where he began working in September 2013.
While he worked at KSNF, he over a wide range of sports from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, to NASCAR at Kansas Speedway to the Kansas City Royals reaching their first World Series in 30 years.
