In early 2017, he underwent topical chemotherapy on his entire face for over 30 days, and in 2021 he underwent a procedure to remove cancer from a region on his shoulder.
Leonard shared that he was diagnosed with skin cancer again in November 2024, this time on his shoulder, after battling the disease about three years prior. The tumor formed formed in the exact same region where he had a small mass removed with a quick ‘scoop’ about three years ago. As a result, he underwent MOHS Surgery, an outpatient procedure that permits surgeons to cut away thin layers of skin until the cancer is completely removed.
