Jeras serves at The Weather Channel as an On-Camera Meteorologist and Co-Host of Storm Center. She joined the network as a freelancer in 2016 and full-time in April 2019. At both the national and local levels, Jacqui has experience working. On Weather Center Live, she plans and estimates weekday afternoons and even reports from the field. Jacqui is a qualified meteorologist for television, a qualification she received from the American Meteorological Society. She also has a State Weather Association Stamp of Approval where she has served as Chair of Councilor and Recertification. She mentors students at present.

Jacqui worked in Washington, D.C. before joining The Weather Channel. As the meteorologist for the morning at the ABC affiliate. Prior to that for more than a decade, she worked at CNN reporting all severe weather, including hurricanes and tornado outbreaks.

Following the EF5 tornado in 2011, she spent a week in Joplin, Missouri. For their coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf Oil Spill, Jacqui won a Peabody award along with her staff. Furthermore, Jacqui won NOAA Weather Radio’s Mark Trail award for promotion and protection. She worked at WHO-TV in Des Moines, WEHT-TV in Evansville, IN, and KCAU-TV in Sioux City, IA, before joining CNN.

Jeras received an “Outstanding Young Alumnus” award from her Alma Mater in 2006. She also has a degree from Mississippi State University in Broadcast Meteorology With origins in Wisconsin and Minnesota, Jacqui grew up in the Midwest.

She was intrigued by all sorts of weather there but she enjoys a strong snowstorm the most! The tropics are a second behind. Jacqui loves running, biking, camping, and spending time with her family in her spare time. When coming to her education, Jacqui graduated from the University of the State of Iowa.
