This is where she began her TV career. At WCVB-TV she also served as a meteorologist for the weekday EyeOpener for a decade, then got a promotion to co-anchoring the station’s evening magazine show, Chronicle.
As a co-anchor of the Chronicle, she won a Gracie award, as well as a regional Edward R. Murrow award. Additionally, Monahan anchored the evening newscasts on WCVB, and at the time, she reported on the Boston Marathon tragedy. In the year 2007, Monahan was diagnosed with depression. This was after giving birth to her first daughter, Victoria Rose. Monahan sought treatment and after a few sessions with a psychiatrist and taking anti-depressants, she was back to her normal self. She had a lot of time by herself and as a result, she found herself thinking bad thoughts, as a perfectionist. Depression however came knocking back again and she was also diagnosed with debilitating anxiety. The situation was that she overdosed on Xanax in the year 2018 that she ended up in the emergency room.
