Ranieri serves at KNTV – NBC Bay Area as a Chief Meteorologist and weekday evening meteorologist. He appears on the 5 PM, 5:30 PM, 6 PM, 7 PM, and 11 PM newscasts. Before joining KNTV, he worked as an NBC Correspondent and Meteorologist for MSNBC and NBC News in New York from December 2004 to June 2009. Prior to his time in New York, he served as a Meteorologist at KCRA 3 & My58 Television in Sacramento, California, from 2001 to December 2004.

He also worked as a Meteorologist and Feature Reporter at KDRV-TV | KDKF-TV in Medford, Oregon, from 2000 to 2001. Ranieri began his career at WUFT News, where he was a News Anchor, Reporter, Weather Anchor, and Editor from 1998 to 2000. He also worked as a Production Assistant, Floor Director, and Camera Operator at WESH 2 CW18 in Orlando, Florida, from 1996 to 1998. During the PyeongChang, Sochi, London, and Rio games, Ranieri hosted the “Olympic Zone”.

Over the years with KNTV, Ranieri has covered many weather stories such as the West Coast’s tsunami warnings, the 6.0 Napa Earthquake, and Hurricane Irene. He was able to cover the weather in sports in the year 2010 when he was reporting for the San Francisco Giants’ quest for the World Series Championship. When working for MSNBC, Ranieri also reported on multiple significant weather events, both live from the ground and from the studio. Some of these stories include the historic flooding in the Midwest and Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, MS. He also had a chance to go to Beijing and Torino to report on the 2008 and 2006 Olympic Games.

Besides working on TV, Ranieri has been a member of AMS – the American Meteorological Society, and holds their Seal of Approval. He is also passionate about giving back to the community.
