Jennifer sketched a tornado, complete with cows flying into it.
Jennifer began her career shortly after graduation with a brief stint at KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri, before joining the WHO-TV 13 weather team in Des Moines, Iowa, in November 2013 and KMBC 9 in Kansas City in December 2015. McDermed has been tracking tornadoes in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas for the past few years.
In 2012, the largest tornado Jennifer tracked was an EF-4 near Lyons, Kansas. And now that she’s in Minnesota, she can predict severe weather as well as blizzards! Jennifer not only enjoys all types of weather, but she also enjoys being active. She enjoys everything from pick-up volleyball and basketball games to hiking, kayaking, and triathlons.
Millie, a Newfoundland dog, was the perfect companion for her outdoor pursuits when she met her in the fall of 2018. She enjoys meeting new people and going on new adventures.
