After he graduated from college, the started serving as the midday meteorologist and anchor of the morning show. He, later on, started serving as a chief meteorologist in 1990.
In 1986, the National Weather Association awarded him with the Seal of Approval, and in 1991 got his Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. He later on upgraded his AMS seal to the CBM seal in the spring of 2007. In addition to that, he has also managed to win several awards ever since he started his journalism career. For instance, he was Best Weathercast in Indiana by the Indiana Broadcasters Association in 2013, 2012, and 2011.
Furthermore, he has also tagged the Best TV Personality in the Wabash Valley in 2022, 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2010 in the Terre Haute Tribune-Star Readers’ Choice Awards.
