Joe Charlevoix Education
Charlevoix joined Valparaiso University in Indiana when he completed his studies at Norway High School. He graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Broadcast Meteorology in May 2001.
One of his favorite memories as a freshman in college was attending the Sweet 16 in the college basketball tournament. He interned at WGN in Chicago where he worked with Chief Meteorologist Tom Skilling. To date, Charlevoix and Skilling are close friends.
As a high schooler, Charlevoix was actively involved in sports bands. During his senior year, he was the class president. He lived in Nordenham, Germany as an exchange student when he was a junior. In this way, he traveled throughout much of Western Europe.

Charlevoix is working for WPBN serving as the chief meteorologist. Since July 2018, he has worked the evening shift, broadcasting the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. news, and filling in WPBN’s sister station ABC 29&8. He also provides weather forecasts on WFCX-FM 94.3 and WFDX-FM 92.5 Music Radio the Fox FM. When he joined the station, he first worked as a weekend meteorologist.
Since he was a young child, Charlevoix has always been interested in the weather. By the time he was 3 or 4, he had begun drawing weather maps with crayons and gluing his eyes to the TV meteorologists, significantly at WLUC TV6 in Marquette.
After graduating college, Charlevoix accepted a job in the Upper Peninsula with ABC Affiliate WBKP/WBUP-TV in Marquette, Michigan. In Marquette, he was a noon show meteorologist, anchor, and morning news and weather producer. Further, he provided weather updates at WKMJ-FM in Houghton, Michigan.
