Roetz reported on several events that included the Lee County Government’s handling of taxpayer-funded VR Labs for the network. He also covered on the Edison State College faculty unrest along with a student. Roetz also covered President Barack Obama’s first trip in the year 2015 to the Florida Everglades.

Roetz won his first Emmy in the year 2014 due to his report on the Naples family who seeks treatment for their son’s seizures in form of a marijuana-based liquid in. Later in 2003 won his Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for his report on the scuttled U.S.C.G. U.S.S. Mohawk underwater art exhibit on board. Additionally, Roetz has several Associated Press Awards for his coverage of several spot-hitting events that include the 2010 State Amendments and the 2012 U.S.S. Mohawk that was sinking.

Roetz began his journalistic career in Philadelphia at WTXF-TV prior to moving to Trenton, New Jersey at WZBN-TV where he served as a reporter. He later moved to Syracuse, New York where he worked for two years as a reporter both at WTVH and WSTM. Aside from work, Roetz enjoys running races, sky diving, and also scuba diving.
