Before joining FOX 8 News, he worked as a Sports Radio Host and Personality on a freelance basis for Various Companies in Tampa, Florida, from October 2013 to December 2021. Prior to that, he had a role with WFTS-TV, where he was both a Sports Anchor and Reporter and a News Anchor for approximately 7 years, from 2013 to 2020, all while still in Tampa, Florida.

Sabol’s passion for television and sports started at FOX 8 News. He used to be a sports intern there and later became the weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter. Sabol’s love for Cleveland sports began when he was young, going to many Browns and Indians games with his dad and brother at the old Municipal Stadium. He also enjoyed watching the Cavaliers play, especially his childhood hero Mark Price, at the Richfield Coliseum.

Sabol has 2 special memories of Cleveland sports that he will never forget. One is the 2016 Cavs championship, and the other is going to Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. Even though the outcome of the World Series was disappointing, he still holds onto the dream of seeing Rajai Davis hit that amazing game-tying, 2-run home run in the 8th inning against Aroldis Chapman. He believes that if there hadn’t been a rain delay, the Tribe would have won the World Series!

Throughout his career, he has won several honors for his incredible work. In the year 2013, Sabol received the “Best Sportscast” award from the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. He got to experience covering championship sporting events like the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship, the postseason for the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Stanley Cup Final for the Tampa Bay Lightning, as well as multiple other sporting events and bowl games in the Bay area.

Sabol has had the chance to interview many famous sports stars like Derek Jeter, Tiger Woods, LeBron James, and Shaquille O’Neal. But his most cherished and favorite interview was with Julia Ruth Stevens (Babe Ruth’s daughter). They met on the 100th anniversary of the first spring training game in St. Petersburg, FL in the year 2014.
