Yuhas’s career in the field of weather has spanned more than three decades. He has worked at KEYC in Mankato, Minnesota; KAAL in Austin/Rochester, and KCRA in Sacramento, California, as a Meteorologist. Yuhas’s interest in weather began when he was just 7 years old.

During a visit to his cousins in Omaha, they experienced a tornado that came close to their neighborhood. This incident sparked his curiosity, and once he returned home to the Twin Cities, he delved into learning everything about tornadoes and the weather in Minnesota. Over the course of his professional journey, he chased tornadoes from Minnesota down to Texas.

When it comes to his education, Yuhas is a proud alumnus of the University of North Dakota and Edina High School. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in meteorology and aviation. He completed 25 marathons and is a licensed pilot. For a span of half a year, he served as an Edina Police Reserve Officer. He also provided training to multiple police and fire departments on appropriate actions during severe weather occurrences.

In August 2018, Yuhas took a break from television, leaving his fans curious about his whereabouts. To address their concerns, he shared a message on his social media accounts, shedding light on his health situation. The conversation about his well-being started when people noticed his absence from KSTP-TV. In his post, he explained that he had undergone surgery and needed time to recover.

Yuhas disclosed that he was required to be on blood thinners for the rest of his life due to experiencing blood clot issues in his lungs (known as Pulmonary Embolism). Unfortunately, the use of blood thinners complicated matters and increased the risk of bleeding during the surgery.

In August 2017, Yuhas experienced his initial bout of Pulmonary Embolism, followed by another occurrence in June 2018. Additionally, he revealed encountering a problem with his small intestine. Going into further depth about his health challenges, Yuhas shared that despite these issues, he managed to recover, and he is presently enjoying good health.
