In 2022, she won awards at the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists awards for covering these issues.
After graduating from college, Markhoff kickstarted her professional career as a producer at News 6 WKMG in Orlando. There, she produced the 4:30 a.m. newscast and substituted at Noon.
