Brackin serves KSLTV as a weekday reporter for KSL Today. She joined the station in March 2022. Previously, she served in Portland, Maine, at WGME as a morning reporter.

While in Portland, she had extensive “Back to School” broadcasts of local school districts across the state after the change from learning remotely to being in a class full time and how that affected teachers and students. Additionally, she shed light on various local business owners deemed “essential workers” throughout the state’s phased reopening plan.

Further, she gave developing live reports of a local island encompassing Maine’s only recorded shark attack in history. Moreover, she did “Food Bank Friday,” airing on Fridays where she went to local food banks and spotlighted the service of volunteers and community needs during the pandemic.

Brackin’s love for storytelling and people started early. When she is asked the question, “’What do you want to be when you grow up?” she answered, “An announcer.” Brackin credits her passion for journalism and the dream of sharing other people’s stories to her alma mater, Auburn University. When she was a student, Brackin was heavily involved with Eagle Eye, the student-run television station where she spent much of her time as an anchor and reporter. War Eagle.

Brackin thanks her family and friends, a true village for helping her make her dream a reality. During her free time, if it is winter, Brackin is probably outside experiencing many firsts with snow, boxing at the gym, or taste-testing all of Portland’s local eateries.
