After graduating college, she interned at KLTV where she worked alongside Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto who she credits for her success as he was the first person to encourage her to pursue television.

Later on, she relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she worked at KOTV-TV forecasting severe storms but chasing tornadoes as well.
