She was brought up in a suburb outside of Chicago and attended the University of Kansas where she studied journalism and business. When she was young she would pretend to be a journalist using her hairbrush as a microphone while interviewing friends and family members.
In addition, while she was at the University of Kansas, she created and hosted her own morning show, called “Wake Up Call.” She interned in London, England in 2018, covering movie premiers and interviewing British celebrities on the red carpet. Furthermore, she was named as the Midwest’s Student Broadcaster of the Year during her final year at the University of Kansas.
