Dobeck is truly passionate about spending time with kids in the community, where she travels to classrooms to engage with the students and teach about STEM. She always knew that she wanted to be a meteorologist when she was just a young girl. She fondly recalls establishing a weather station on her playground with her dad and watching storms roll in off Lake Erie.
Before returning to Northeast Ohio, Dobeck tracked tornadoes for KARK/KLRT in Little Rock, Arkansas. There, she worked as a meteorologist and morning reporter. For instance, she forecasted orographic lifting snow in the Carolina Mountains, launched weather balloons into snowstorms, and ice storm forecasting in the south. She also worked for NASA, where she calibrated rain gauges in the Great Smoky Mountains.
