Prior to KOIN 6, he was tenured at FOX-12 originally known as KPTV-12 as a reporter and producer. Boddie initiated his career in New York at Cornell University in Ithaca where he covered campus events for the institution’s radio station. It was while he was there, that he discovered his passion in government and public affairs and decided to relocate back to Rochester.
This paved way for his tenure at WDKX radio and was later promoted to news director. Due to this, he was hired as a reporter on the local ABC affiliate television station. In the year 2016, Boddie was named an honorary Royal Rosarian, one of Portland’s highest civic honors. Additionally, he was honored with several civic awards. His response to the racist letter that he had gotten in 2020, paved the way to him winning a regional Emmy for his story based.
In addition, in 2022, he was awarded an Emmy for broadcasting The Eye on Northwest Politics. He was also awarded the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Silver Circle Award. The kind of award which is awarded to journalists with at least 25 years in TV. Boddie actively volunteers in his community and is a former Board Member of PDXJazz. He supports local artists and often emcees for events in Portland. Boddie enrolled at Cornell University after completing his high school education. While there, he served the campus TV station, WHCU. After graduating, he relocated back to his hometown in Rochester.
