Before WATE, Weathers worked as a meteorologist for the Weather Channel from 2002 to 2006. He was a broadcast meteorologist in Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and Knoxville. Further, he was a meteorologist at KOCO in Oklahoma City from 1997 to 2000.
Weathers loves local news because he meets the people of East Tennessee and keeps them safe during severe weather. He holds the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval. He also has the Broadcasting Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.
