Kobielusz’s passion for the weather began in 2011 after the Good Friday Tornado missed her house by barely a mile. In the following days, she volunteered with her mother and co-workers to make sack lunches and collect donations from local businesses to help rebuild the community. Those moments made her realize that she wanted to make a difference and help people be ready for the weather for the rest of her life.
Kobielusz never thought she would become a broadcast meteorologist due to her shy nature. She dreamt of working behind the scenes. However, she decided to push past her comfort zone and take an internship at KOMU 8 during her sophomore year in college and has never looked back.
