Adams began her career in broadcasting as an intern at WJR Radio. She secured her first on-air job at WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio. Given that the station is a small NBC affiliate, the money wasn’t great. Thus, she would return home to Detroit to clean houses to make ends meet on weekends.
Adams briefly worked at WBNS in Columbus, Ohio, before accepting a position at WXYZ-TV. She made history in July 1997 as the first female meteorologist in Detroit TV history.
Besides her broadcasting career, Adams is proud of serving the community. A breast cancer survivor, she volunteers her time to work closely with New Day Foundation for Families, which provides financial support for cancer patients.
