McCabe serves Sky News as an Asia correspondent based in Bangkok, Thailand. Before this, she served Sky News as a US correspondent. She joined Sky News in January 2016. Previously, she served Channel 4 as a correspondent for Channel 4 News for 2 and a  half years.

Further, she served as the senior meteorologist at The Weather Channel, based at the United Kingdom office in London. In September 2003, she joined the BBC Weather team where she began her training on new media forecasts working on BBC Digital’s interactive service and online. In 2004, was when she completed the first part of her forecaster training at the Met Office College.

She presented forecasts across a number of BBC outlets, such as BBC One, BBC World News, BBC News, and Radio 4. Furthermore, she served as the main weather presenter for BBC News at One and on regular occasions presented the weather on BBC Breakfast. She did take the role of  Andrea McLean as GMTV’s weather forecaster in January 2009.

Additionally, she served as an environment correspondent and weather presenter. Further, she served alongside Lucy Verasamy on GMTV’s replacement program Daybreak on ITV Breakfast in September 2010. Later on, an announcement was made that she left Daybreak on February 7, 2012.

She later joined  South Today on BBC South in June 2012, where she served for six months as a weather forecaster. Later on, she relocated to  BBC Scotland on Reporting Scotland. Furthermore, she also presented weather forecasts for 5 News on Channel 5, providing cover for Sian Welby from July 2013 to October 2016. She was the first meteorologist in residence for the London Marriott Hotel County Hall providing bespoke weather forecasts in June 2017.
