After completing treatment for her second battle with breast cancer, she returned to WUSA9 in August 2017, continuing to be a vocal advocate for awareness and early detection of the disease. Her broadcasting career began in her hometown of Florida, where she worked at WJHG in Panama City as a news anchor and co-host of the Professional Tarpon Tournament Series.
During this time, she traveled to Kuwait and Iraq with the Tarpon Crew, organizing a fishing competition for over 400 U.S. servicemen and women and their allies at Z Lake on Victory Base Complex in Baghdad. She received the Florida Chapter Associated Press award for her four-part series documenting her trip, titled “Journey to Freedom.”
Transitioning to sports broadcasting in Baltimore, she served as a weekend sports anchor for WBFF, contributing to the team’s recognition with the Chesapeake Bay Region Associated Press award for Best Year-Round Sports Coverage. Berset’s diverse career also includes being crowned Miss Florida USA in 2004 and being a semi-finalist in the Miss USA finals.

Berset completed her treatment for her second bout with breast cancer in August 2017 before returning to WUSA. She first noticed a lump while embracing her husband just before Thanksgiving in 2016. Shortly thereafter, she underwent a biopsy, receiving the diagnosis while shopping for a wedding gown with her mother in Florida. Within two weeks of her wedding, she underwent surgery.
