Ramsey’s acting career began when she was discovered by an agent and cast in a documentary. Laura traveled to Los Angeles at the age of 19 to pursue a career in Hollywood. She stayed in West Hollywood, sharing an apartment with the girlfriend of a friend. Laura was discovered by a talent agency while working as a waiter at the ‘Sunset Boulevard’ in December 2002. She got her first audition the next day and passed it.
Laura starred in the real film ‘The Real Cancun,’ which was released in 2003. The reality TV-inspired documentary followed 16 young Americans as they experienced the authentic adventures of youth while on spring break in Cancun, Mexico. Laura’s first film, unfortunately, bombed at the box office and was blasted by critics. Even when she returned after the film’s release, she had to deal with her grandparents, parents, and other relatives who were dissatisfied with her performance in the film.
Laura, on the other hand, continued her profession and moved to television. She landed the character of ‘Natalie Day’ in the ABC series ‘The Days’ in 2004. In the series, her character was the protagonist couple’s eldest kid, a homecoming queen, a great soccer player, and the most popular girl in her school, whose world was flipped upside down when she became pregnant.
Laura made her feature film debut in Catherine Hardwicke’s biographical drama ‘Lords of Dogtown’ in 2005, as ‘Gabrielle.’ She starred as ‘Jenny’ in the independent horror comedy ‘Cruel World,’ and as ‘Rachel’ in another horror film, ‘Venom,’ in the same year.
Laura’s next role was as ‘Olivia Lennox’ in the romantic comedy ‘She’s the Man,’ which she starred in in 2006. She played ‘Sarah Wenham,’ the love interest of ‘Caleb Danvers,’ (played by Steven Strait), and the only non-Covenant who knew the boys’ secret in the supernatural horror film ‘The Covenant.’
Laura then appeared in the crime drama ‘Where the Road Meets the Sun’ as ‘Sandra,’ and in the short film ‘1 Out of 7,’ as ‘Lexi.’ ‘Kill the Irishman,’ a 2011 movie of Irish–American gangster Danny Greene, featured her as ‘Ellie O’Hara.’ She later starred as ‘Maren’ in the indie action-adventure film ‘Hirokin: The Last Samurai,’ and as ‘Betty’ in the 2012 horror film ‘No One Lives.’
Laura had a major role in the Mexican–American romance comedy ‘Pulling Strings’ in 2013. She played ‘Rachel Simons,’ an astute diplomat working at the US embassy, in the film. After ‘Mad Men,’ she reconnected with Weiner for the comedy-drama ‘Are You Here.’ The ‘Toronto International Film Festival’ hosted its debut. Angela, a young special education teacher and the stepmother of ‘Ben Baker,’ was her character in the film (Zach Galifianakis). Laura appeared in the comedy the same year.

She featured in the film portraying Ellie O’Hara, The film follows the rise and fall of Danny Greene. He worked as a longshoreman on the Cleveland docks, until being chosen to serve as interim president of the International Longshoremen’s Association in 1961. In 1964, he was convicted of embezzling $11,500 of the union’s funds. After his conviction, Greene rose through the criminal underworld in Cleveland and waged war on the Mafia for control of the city. After many failed attempts on Greene’s life, he was assassinated on October 6, 1977, by contract killer Ray Ferritto. Greene’s death ultimately led to the demise of the Cleveland Mafia Kill the Irishman was released in the United States on March 11, 2011, it received mixed reactions upon its release.
